Walk Tall!

Writer: Tanya E. HoodTanya E. Hood

Life is a journey. In some parts of it, we can sit in the shade and enjoy the beauty and love that it brings. In other parts, we want to run as fast as we can because of the hell we find ourselves in.

When I look at these moments in life, I find that the most growth and stability was in walking through the moments of life. If you really think about walking, there is a dependence to it that we don’t often consider.

To walk you must literally place all your weight on one foot. Think about that. You have to depend on one leg to sustain you while you shift to place all your weight on the other foot. (No wonder babies fall so much when they start this process.) We don’t often think about this fact because many of us have found a rhythm to our walk that gives us a pace that makes this seem effortless.

It is the shifts of life that often throws off our rhythm and causes us to think that we will not be able to take another step.

“I’m feeling defeated.” - How can I take another step?

“It seems like every time…” - How can I take another step?

“Are there really….” - How can I take another step?

The questions in our soul seem endless and we often get stuck. Walking through life is how most of us make it.

Walk Tall.

You have nothing to be ashamed of. You gave the best you had and nothing more can truly be asked of you. Now you get to walk to the next level of your journey in life. Pause to find your rhythm in life. This required me to take the time I needed to get to know Tanya.

I started with the basics. I rediscovered my favorite color, my favorite flower, and my favorite dessert. Do you know the basics of who you are at the core of your being? If not, then now is the best time to find it. It will help you get clear about what you can depend on in the shifts of life.

When you depend on a sure foundation, the shifts will not bother you because when you walk, you never have both feet on the ground at once.

Find your rhythm.

Have a sure foundation.

and

Walk Tall.
